The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints has very specific goals and guidelines when building a new house of worship, and the Glenville, NY structure built by BHI passed the review of the Utah-based church with flying colors.
This particular project started with extensive site work, requiring six feet of rock to be blasted from the church property. Despite this challenge, BHI stayed within budget and kept on a realistic schedule for the church’s satisfaction. The LDS church designs are similar nationwide. Sanctuaries, meeting room, child care and classrooms retain a unified style created by architects at the LDS headquarters. This 17,000 square foot structure is built of structural steel, metal frame and masonry exterior, all performed by BHI.
Several of the Utah Church administration visit each new building and go over it with a fine-toothed comb to rate the quality of the building. BHI achieved one of the highest scores on this performance review from the Church -- affirmation of another job well done.
