Putnam Street Parking Garage
INDUSTRY: Public / Municipal
PROJECT TYPE: Parking Garage
DATE COMMISSIONED: February 1999
PROJECT SIZE: 202 space
ROLE: Design/Build
SERVICES: Concrete Slabs, General Construction, Masonry, Site Work
After a competitive bid and winning a design competition sponsored by the City of Saratoga Springs, BHI was awarded this municipal parking lot project that had a quick turn-around of four months. This 202-space bi-level structure was kept within the architectural style of Saratoga, with brick, arches and pre-cast coping.
The site was formerly old buildings on a corner lot adjacent to the historic Congress Park, and extensive site work had to be completed to remove old foundations and drive piles. BHI used their in-house concrete expertise to build post-tension, cast-in-place concrete frame and deck that minimized disturbance of adjacent structures.
This structure is in one of the busiest areas of this tourist city. BHI accommodated the Owner by performing concrete pour at night to stay on schedule and to maintain a safe environment.
