Amtrak is the primary source of passenger train service for the Capital Region area of New York. The railroad has a station in Rensselaer, known as the Albany-Rensselaer station.
In 2001, BHI was awarded the contract to install two sets of escalators. The escalators carry passengers to the train platforms from the enclosed walkway extending from the station over the railroad tracks. BHI was also previously chosen as the contractor for a $4.5 million pedestrian walkway.
